PURPOSES OF OUR SOCIETY

The National Society was founded in 1892 and is headquartered in Washington, D.C. The United States Daughters of 1812 is a non-profit, non-political, volunteer women's service organization dedicated to promoting patriotism and preserving and increasing knowledge of American history between the close of the American Revolution and the close of the War of 1812. The National Society was Incorporated by an act of the United States Congress in 1901, and was one of the first women's organizations to receive a national charter. For more than a century, members have dedicated themselves to patriotism, preservation of documents and relics, and education. These goals are as relevant in today's society as they were when the organization was founded in 1892. Visit the National Society N.S.U.S.D. of 1812 official website.

The New York State Society, National Society United States Daughters of 1812, was organized January 8, 1892, and was the first state society to be organized within our National organization.
